JOSHUA’S WHY
From his early years in Alpharetta, Georgia, through his time in Knoxville, and now as a Pittsburgh resident, Joshua Dobbs continues to demonstrate his commitment of being a VOLUNTEER and faithfully gives back to his community.
He inspires children and adults of all ages and spends considerable time supporting those facing challenges like cancer or alopecia, a condition of which he is affected. Joshua is a regular volunteer at youth summits and hosts numerous youth sports camps, helping to train and mold the youth of his community into great leaders. Joining fellow UT students upon request, Joshua made impromptu visits to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge shelters to assist and encourage first responders and victims during the devastating 2016 East Tennessee wildfires.
He is passionate about working with the youth through various non-profit groups such as the Boys and Girls Club, the Children’s Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center, the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, the Emerald Youth Foundation, Girls, Inc. of TN Valley, Horizons National, Knoxville HonorAir, the Pittsburgh Police Jr. Chess Club, the Strength of Champions, and the Wounded Warrior Project. In addition, he has served a national spokesperson for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation and the Go Create It 21-Day Empathy Challenge.
